It's rare that I cover blog events here on Apartment Number 4. My love for my warm, cosy flat means I seldom venture out, and if I'm really honest, the ones that I do go to often don't warrant a full blog post.
But this event was different. I was invited down to The Carriage Works Revolution in Leeds last month, by the team at Moonpig to hear about their new festive campaign, #MerrierTogether.
As someone who prides herself on her ability to make the most cringe-worthy, go-into-hiding Moonpig cards for friends, I was interested to learn more.
The theme #MerrierTogether is about bringing families and friends together this Christmas, whether it be in person or halfway across the world, with a personalised Christmas card, a snappy Santa mug, or another festive treat.
We started the day with mulled wine whilst stencilling on Santa's sack. Stop sniggering at the back. It's only when I start to get crafty with artist and host for that section of the event, Sandra Togher, that I realise how truly rubbish I am. And there I was thinking I was the next Neil Buchanan.
We also tried our hand at cocktail making - I made a Virgin Mojito as I was driving, and to be fair, the addition of cucumber and apple juice made it much tastier alternative to my usual rum filled drink.
Following that we had pictures taken in a photobooth before designing our own personalised card. I can't share mine on here as I thought it would be a good idea to wear to poo emoji hat. Not entirely sure what I was thinking.
Finally, we made our way to the wreath making area with the talented florist, Helen James, but not before filling up with some delicious food. All in all, a great, creative way to kickstart Christmas.
Thank you to the Moonpig team for inviting me, and of course for the delicious tote goodie bag which contained the most amazing Cartwright & Butler chocolate cookies, a personalised mug, and a BakedIn Chocolate Brownie Kit. And you thought Moonpig just did cards, hey!
